20 Questions with Joshua Damian
Last week, we talked to Daniel about his new single and learned some fun facts about him that you may not have known before! This week, I caught up with Joshua Damian to talk about his new song, “Let’s Go”, available now on Spotify and iTunes, and scooped up some trivia you may not have known about our whiskered, guitar-toting artist.
You also have a new single! What's the title, and your inspiration behind it?
Yeah! It's called "Let's Go." This song comes from a place of confidence to ask my dream girl out. (Not saying there is one right now or not...)
When did you realize you wanted to be a musician?
Freshman year of high school. I had just moved back home to Modesto, and all my friends were playing different instruments and [I] thought it was the coolest thing .
What do you turn to when you need inspiration?
I get in my car and go get lost somewhere.
What drew you to Lion Bold Records?
The donuts .... just kidding. My good friend Ryan had this big vision Lion Bold Records and I wanted to jump on board any way I could!
If you could become an expert at any other instrument in the world, what would it be?
I really want to learn to master the harmonica! I've always wanted one!
If you could have a Lip Sync Battle against any other celebrity in the world, who would it be and what would you sing?
I want to have a Lip Sync Battle with Beyonce, even though I know she would win. My song of choice would be "Show Me How to Burlesque" by Christina Aguilera.
If there was a movie made about your life, who would play you?
I would hope Ryan Reynolds! He's my favorite actor. I mean, why not?
What’s your #1 recommended playlist on Spotify/Pandora?
I have a “Songs to Sing in the Shower” playlist on Spotify that I absolutely love. Pandora has to be Today's Country Radio.
What’s the one app on your phone that you can’t live without?
Snapchat, sadly. I use it way too much.
What’s your favorite dessert?
Mochi ice cream.
What's your favorite TV show right now?
Dexter.
Who's your favorite superhero and why?
Deadpool. He's my spirit animal.
Football or Basketball?
Football.
Would rather have the power of flight or super-strength?
I definitely would love to fly!
Favorite YouTube channel?
Glozell! She kills me
What was the last gift you gave someone and why?
I gave my really good friend Catie Ryan a cactus to say good luck on her show! Don't know why I did. I was at the store, saw it and thought that she would like a cactus [laughs].
Favorite spot in San Diego?
My kitchen.
What’s your dream vacation?
I have several, but mainly touring Europe! There has to be a Vespa involved.
If you were told you could have a lifetime supply of one food item, what would you want?
Carne asada fries, hands down.
Do you have any weird Thanksgiving traditions?
Not really. I wish though! I should start some [laughs].
